Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer occurs when prostate cells go into uncontrolled growth and do not experience normal cell death or apoptosis. Over 90% of prostate cancer cases are prostatic adenocarcinoma, meaning that the cancer occurs in the gland or ducts that absorb or secret fluid. Prostatic sarcoma as a primary case is extremely rare and refers to prostate cancer that has extended to thew bones. The tumor associated with prostate cancer usually grows in the peripheral zone and may extend to the prostatic capsule, the seminal vesicles, the lymph nodes, and bones.
