Clinical trial phase IV
is conducted after the drug has been granted a license
for distribution. Researchers track the prostate cancer
patients who undergo the new therapies or treatments
for prostate cancer. Tracking these patients let researchers
continue their studies of side effects as study the
long-term risks and benefits. There is no cost for the
prostate cancer patients who enroll in the clinical
trials, and those men who do so are furthering the technology
for the men who will develop prostate cancer after them.
