BPH
stands for benign prostatic hyperplasia and is a more
severe enlargement of the prostate gland; the prostate
gland experiences a non-cancerous growth that pushes
on the bladder and contracts the urethra leading to
urinary side effects that may or may not effect daily
life. Some symptoms of BPH may be confused with the
similar symptoms of prostate cancer. Patients who feel
that BPH interferes with the enjoyment of everyday life,
should see a doctor about possibly undergoing the transurethral
resection of the prostate which will create a wider
channel for the urethra where it passes through the
prostate gland.
