Terazosin after Prostate Cancer

Terazosin is found in the alpha-blocker or anti-adrenergic classes of drugs and is used to relax the muscles of the bladder and the prostate gland. Terazosin is used to treat overflow incontinence in which the bladder is so full and distended that proper voiding cannot be obtained. Overflow incontinence may occur after prostate cancer treatment. Terazosin inhibits actions of the sympathetic nervous system and thereby causes the muscles of the bladder to relax which allows the urine to flow out.
