There are four standard prostate
cancer treatments for early prostate cancer:
brachytherapy, cryotherapy, external radiation therapy,
and prostatectomy. With the exception of cryotherapy,
these treatments can be broken in sub-categories of
therapy. Prostate cancer treatments also include watchful
waiting and hormone therapy, and chemotherapy which
is almost exclusive to advanced prostate cancer. Prostate
cancer treatments can be used as monotherapy, adjuvant
therapy, neoadjuvant therapy, primary therapy, or salvage
therapy. New prostate cancer treatments are being invented
and technology, equipment, and technique are constantly
being refined. The Prostate Cancer Treatment Guide is
designed to aid the patient and his loved ones by organizing
nearly all of these treatments into a guide that is
easily understood and navigated.
