Penile exercise
may also be referred to masturbation. After prostate
cancer treatment, a man may experience penile shrinkage
or a hardening or stiffening of the arteries that produce
the blood flow which causes erection. Prostatectomy
may result in a shortening of the penis while radiation
therapy may stiffen the arteries. Penile exercises keep
the penis lengthened and malleable. Also the experience
of erections decreases the occurrence of impotence after
prostate cancer treatment.
