Nonadrenergic, Noncholinergic Neuron and
Impotence After Prostate Cancer

Nonadrenergic, noncholinergic is abbreviated as NANC and refers to a neuron which is responsible for the nitric oxide that starts the chemical cycle which produces an erection. The NANC neuron is a pathway by which the brain tells the penis the body is in a state of arousal. Damage to this neuron during prostate cancer treatments can cause impotence.
