Nanograms are one
billionth of a gram and are the units used to measure
serum PSA levels that are used to indicate prostate
cancer. Nanograms and used with milliliters to determine
the density of the serum PSA and if the density is rapidly
increasing, a patient will usually proceed to the digital
rectal exam and the prostate biopsy.
