Intra-operative planning is also called real-time dosimetry. Undergoing prostate cancer brachytherapy requires extension planning and mapping by a radiation oncologist, an urologist, and a physics team. Sometimes the planning and mapping phases are performed in the weeks or days before the procedure, intra-operative planning occurs as part of the minimally invasive procedure.
