Extraperitoneal
refers to a technique used either in the laparoscopic
prostatectomy or the robotic prostatectomy used
during prostate cancer treatment. The extraperitoneal
prostatectomy goes the peritoneum which is a membrane
encasing most of the internal organs within the abdomen.
