Estrogen
is a rarely-used type of prostate cancer hormone therapy.
Synthetic estrogen is used much more commonly for men
than is natural estrogen. Synthetic estrogen has been
shown to include cardiovascular risks during anti-hormone
therapy, however, small amounts of estrogen may decrease
the side effects associated with prostate cancer hormone
therapy. Estrogen works because the hypothalamus mistakes
estrogen for testosterone and stops telling the body
to continue the production.
