Diethylstilbestrol for Prostate Cancer Hormone Therapy

Diethylstilbestrol is a synthetic version of the female sex hormone estrogen which is used as a prostate cancer hormone therapy. Because of cardiovascular problems related to prostate cancer hormone therapy, diethylstilbestrol is not often used as a hormone therapy. Some doctos, however, use diethstilbestrol in small amounts to counteract side effects of other types of prostate anti-hormone therapy.
