Cloud of Radiation for Prostate Cancer Brachytherapy
A cloud
of radiation surround the prostate gland
after the organs has had the brachytherapy seeds planted
as a prostate cancer treatment. The permanent seed implants
creates a concentrated area of radiation that can extend
as far out as 5 millimeters. The cloud can treat prostate
cancer that has extended into the seminal vesicles.
