Clinical trial phase I
involves very small numbers of prostate cancer patients.
The drugs and treatments used in phase I clinical trials
have been shown to be effective in laboratory settings,
but not researchers are testing for dosing, side effects,
how the body reacts to the treatment, and whether the
treatment is actually effective in combating the tumor
of prostate cancer. There is not cost to enroll in prostate
cancer clinical trials, and men who do so are furthering
the technology for the men who develop prostate cancer
after them.
