Chronic
bacterial prostatitis is the inflammation
of the prostate gland due to repeated bacterial infection.
The symptoms of chronic bacterial prostatitis do not
develop as quickly and are more mild than in acute bacterial
prostatitis so chronic bacterial prostatitis is harder
to diagnose. These symptoms can also be similar to those
associated with prostate cancer. Chronic bacterial prostatitis
tends to affect men ages 50 to 80.
