Anticonvulsant in Prostate Cancer Chemotherapy

An anticonvulsant is a medicine which prevents or relieves convulsing. Anticonvulsants can be prescribed for those who experience seizures. During prostate cancer treatment with chemotherapy, however, anticonvulsants can be used to decrease the occurrence of neuropathic pain. Gabapentin and carbamazepine are two common drugs for treating pain stemming from the nervous system during prostate cancer chemotherapy.
