Antiadrenergic after Prostate Cancer

The antiadrenergic is used to treat overflow incontinence. The alpha-blocker is a specific type of antiadrenergic. The alpha-blocker binds to the alpha adrenergic receptor and prevents the constriction in the bladder neck muscles. Because overflow incontinence is caused by a tightening of the bladder neck muscles when the urinary bladder is full and distended, preventing the constriction while inciting relaxation allows the patient to void freely.
