Acupuncture is
a medical procedure adapted from ancient Chinese medicine.
In the United States, the acupuncture needles were once
categorized as experimental medicine, but have since
come under the same regulation as scalpels. Some researches
believe that acupuncture works by suppressing or exciting
the autonomic nervous system through needles that are
inserted into the skin. Acupuncture is sometimes used
to treat the affects of neuropathy induced by prostate
cancer chemotherapy.
