Well-differentiated cells and Prostate Cancer

Well-differentiated cells are found during the pathologist,s examination of the prostate biopsy core samples. If the core samples that show prostate cancer are well-differentiated, the cells appear similar to healthy cells. Prostate cancer that is made up well-differentiated cells is smaller and less aggressive than prostate cancer composed of poorly-differentiated cells. The cells examined during the prostate biopsy give a patient his Gleason grade and Gleason score.
