Vitamin E in Prostate Cancer Prevention

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that is used as an antioxidant. There has been some research with vitamin and the possible prevention of prostate cancer. Unfortunately, most researchers deem these results inconclusive or indicative of being effective only for those who were originally deficient in the vitamin or who smoke tobacco. Taking large amounts of vitamin E as a dietary supplement can actually be harmful to the body. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble, meaning the substance builds up in the fatty tissues of the body. The accumulation could cause toxicity.
