TNM staging is
only one of the clinical prostate cancer stage classification
systems. T stands for tumor and measures the extent
of the spread of the cancer through and around the prostate
gland by issuing a number 1 through 4. N stands for
node, or lymph node and measures whether the prostate
cancer has spread into the regional or distant lymph
nodes. M stands for metastasis and measures the extent
of the metastasis to either the bones or other distant
region.
