Recurrent Prostate Cancer

Recurrent prostate cancer is the term for prostate cancer that returns after primary treatment. Recurrent prostate cancer is treated with salvage therapy, which in most cases will be a different type of therapy than the first line treatment. Recurrent prostate cancer may first be monitored with watchful waiting, or treated immediately. Prostate cancer hormone therapy is a common treatment for recurrent prostate cancer. Patients with recurrent prostate cancer should speak to their physicians to decide which salvage therapy they should pursue next.
