Recurrent prostate
cancer is the term for prostate cancer that returns
after primary treatment. Recurrent prostate cancer is
treated with salvage therapy, which in most cases will
be a different type of therapy than the first line treatment.
Recurrent prostate cancer may first be monitored with
watchful waiting, or treated immediately. Prostate cancer
hormone therapy is a common treatment for recurrent
prostate cancer. Patients with recurrent prostate cancer
should speak to their physicians to decide which salvage
therapy they should pursue next.
