The peripheral zone
is located in the back of the prostate gland, closest
to the rectum. This zone contains 2/3 of the fluid producing
glands that contribute to the ejaculatory fluid. This
is the place where prostate cancer (specifically prostatic
adenocarcinoma) usually develops.
