Perineum can be used for Prostate Cancer Treatments and Tests for Prostate Cancer


The perineum is located between the scrotum and the anal sphincter, and prostate treatments and test using the perineum often use the adjectives perineal and transperineal. The perineum is composed of muscles and exterior and is often used in minimally invasive prostate brachytherapy and prostate cryosurgery. The perineum is also the sit of incision for the transperineal biopsy and the perineal prostatectomy.
